Posts, Reels & Stories Automation
Auto-reply to comments on your Instagram posts/reels, or to replies on your Instagram stories, based on keyword matching — no manual moderation needed.
Where to Find It
Sidebar → Instagram → Posts Automation / Reels Automation / Stories Automation. All three share the same underlying rule type; Posts and Reels differ only in which media you pick, Stories has a simpler form with no media picker.
Posts / Reels Automation — Creating a Rule
A 3-step wizard:
Step 1 — Select Account & Media
If you have more than one connected Instagram account, pick which one first. Then choose a specific post (Posts Automation) or reel (Reels Automation) from a grid pulled live from your account — you're picking the exact piece of content the rule applies to, not "all posts."
Step 2 — Name & Keywords
- Name (required) — internal label for this rule.
- Keywords (required, at least one) — comma-separated, e.g.
price, cost, buy. Matching is a case-insensitive substring match against the comment text.
Step 3 — Replies
- Public reply message (required) — posted as a visible reply under the comment.
- Private reply message (required) — sent as a DM to the commenter.
Save — the rule is active immediately.
Stories Automation — Creating a Rule
Simpler, no media picker — the rule applies to all your stories on the selected account:
- Name
- Keywords (comma-separated)
- Reply message — sent as a DM when someone replies to any of your stories with a matching keyword.
Managing Rules
Each rule list shows a toggle (activate/deactivate without deleting) and a delete button. There's no in-place edit for keywords or reply text from the UI — delete and recreate the rule to change wording.
How It Behaves at Runtime
- Posts/Reels: when someone comments on the exact post/reel you selected, and the comment text contains one of your keywords, Whoxa CRM posts the public reply, then attempts a private DM using Meta's one-time "private reply" API. If that fails (e.g. you've already DMed that commenter before — Meta only allows the private-reply shortcut once per person), it falls back to a normal DM instead, so the reply still lands.
- Stories: a keyword match on a story reply triggers a normal DM with your configured reply message.
Note: these rules are strictly per-post/per-reel or per-account (stories) — a keyword rule set up on one post does not apply to your other posts.
